Known as Polkagris, these iconic treats come with a sweet story of early lady entrepreneurial power in Sweden. 

In the 1830s, Amalia Eriksson of Gränna turned tragedy into tradition, creating the iconic red-and-white Polkagrisar candy sticks. Her secret recipe became a local sensation, attracting travelers from across Sweden—and the sweet legacy lives on to this day.

Nowadays, Polkagris is still produced with the original recipe in the small town of Gränna, where you can peek into the kitchen of the candy stores to see how they are made!

While the original Polkagris has a peppermint flavor with red and white swirls, it now comes in an array of flavors -- Triple Berry, Caramel, Violet Licorice, and Sour Watermelon.
